Lake Sherwood

Lake Sherwood has approximately 660 residences and consists of a guard-gated golf-club community, 3 electronic-gated communities, and lake-view homes along Lake Sherwood Drive. The area is almost completely residential, most residents using neighboring Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, or Agoura Hills for commercial needs.

The area is served by the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Students attend Westlake Elementary, Colina Middle School, and Westlake High School.

Lake Sherwood has been frequently used as a filming location, and was just west of several major movie ranches.

Lake Sherwood is so called due to its use as the location for Sherwood Forest in the 1922 film,Robin Hood, starring Douglas Fairbanks.[4][5]The 1938 film, The Adventures of Robin Hood, starring Errol Flynn, also had a major scene shot on location at "Sherwood Forest".

Lake Sherwood is home to Sherwood Country Club - a private golf, tennis and country club set at the base of the majestic Santa Monica Mountains in Thousand Oaks, California. The Club is home to a championship 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, driving range and golf clubhouse which proudly hosts the Tiger Woods Foundation World Challenge Tournament. Adjacent to the golf club is the tennis clubhouse, complete with 14 courts, a sparkling pool, gymnasium, fitness facility and full-service spa.

Sherwood is serviced by two major airports: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Burbank Airport (BUR), as well as Van Nuys, Oxnard and Camarillo airports which accommodate private and corporate planes.
